HEALTH SCIENCE AND MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY

Health Science and Medical Technology is a California Department of Education industry sector program that provides the academic and technical skills and knowledge students need to pursue a full range of career opportunities in health science and medical technology, from entry level to management as well as technical and professional career specialties. Pathway programs teach students what workers need to know and be able to do to contribute to the delivery of safe and effective health care. 

Biotechnology Pathway Courses

This pathway program introduces students to the theoretical aspects of Biotechnology (Cell Biology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Immunology) and societal issues arising from this new technology. Students can complete a Biotechnology capstone project through AAR to complete the pathway.

Sports Medicine Pathway Courses

This pathway program, aligned to the state CTE standards for Patient Care, integrates knowledge and skills from several science disciplines and practical skills, including basic anatomy and physiology, care and prevention of injuries, protective taping and wrapping techniques, and overall wellness.
